Biography

Nanthia Suthana is professor of neurosurgery and biomedical engineering at Duke University. Her research investigates the neural mechanisms of human memory and spatial navigation using mobile intracranial recordings combined with wearable sensors, allowing brain function to be studied during ambulatory behaviour in naturalistic, real-world environments. The Suthana Lab integrates neuroengineering with cognitive neuroscience to develop new tools for ecologically valid recordings, with a longer-term aim of translating these insights into therapeutic strategies for brain disorders.
