Opportunities
Join Us
SCENE is a distributed collaboration of 15 institutions across 6 countries, working together to uncover general principles of brain function through an ecological perspective.
Want to join us?
Are you passionate about ecological neuroscience? Do you want to contribute to a hypothesis-driven collaboration that is shaping how we study perception, cognition, and action across species — from mice and bats to non-human primates and humans (including young children)?
SCENE assembles expertise from systems neuroscience, computational neuroscience, cognitive science, machine learning, and developmental psychology. We are always interested in hearing from talented researchers, engineers, and students whose interests resonate with our research mission.

Equality & diversity
SCENE is committed to building an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming research environment across all of our partner institutions. We value the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences our members bring to the collaboration, and we recognise that excellent science depends on the full participation of people from every community.
We actively oppose discrimination on the grounds of age, colour, disability, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, marital or parental status, nationality, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, or any other protected characteristic. We strive to support family-friendly working arrangements and to advance the careers of researchers at every stage — from undergraduate students to senior investigators.
Each SCENE host institution maintains its own equality, diversity, and inclusion policies, which apply to recruitment and employment within that institution. The collaboration as a whole is committed to ensuring those policies are upheld and that everyone who works with SCENE feels respected, supported, and able to do their best science.
